A Club with a Purpose

4x4 Buddy started with a simple idea: trail riding is more fun and safer when you’ve got someone to go with. In 2018, after finding it difficult to connect with other off-roaders locally, I launched the 4x4 Buddy subreddit as a way to meet like-minded adventurers. A year later, it grew into a formal club with its own website, Discord community, and recognizable brand. Since then, 4x4 Buddy has grown from a solo mission into a thriving group that’s connected hundreds of off-road enthusiasts across the U.S. and beyond.

Our club is proudly inclusive and open to any kind of 4x4, whether you’re wheeling a bone-stock SUV or a rugged trail built rig with lockers and armor. You don’t need to spend a fortune to participate, and you definitely don’t need to fit a certain stereotype. We believe off-roading should be accessible, welcoming, and safe for anyone who wants to get out and explore. While the majority of our members are in the Mid-Atlantic region (from New Jersey down through South Carolina), we’ve got active members across the U.S., from the East Coast to the West, and even a few overseas.

Most of our trail rides and meetups happen in the warmer months, at regional parks and local trails especially in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. Our Discord server is the heartbeat of the club: it’s where events are planned, questions asked and answered, gear is discussed, and friendships are formed. It’s also the best place to get practical advice, meet new drivers in your area, or just swap stories and rig photos. Whether you're planning a solo overland trip or just want someone to spot you on the trail, chances are there's a 4x4 Buddy near you.

We’re not just about turning wrenches or crawling on rocks, we’re about connection. That means helping people find trail partners, learn from one another, and represent their off-road passion with pride. From snowy disasters like our infamous “Snowmageddon” ride at Rausch Creek to casual weekend trail runs, the club thrives on shared experience.
